Hitachi Freight Orders
Supply chain freight & vehicle tracking
Hitachi FO is part of a smart logistics suite that was built in SAP Leonardo. This utilized IoT, machine learning, blockchain and analytics to track and maintain the flow of orders and the onboarding of business partners. Drivers, planners, dispatch and admin are all users of the system. The product was built as an enhancement to the Hitachi suite that would be included in certain purchased tiers
My role
I transitioned onto this project as another UX designer was moving off. We co-worked together during this transition. Then, I continued the remaining 2 personas and though the AI, wireframe, hi-res phase. Altogether, I spent about 3 months of time on this project.
Activities
UX/UI design, User Definement, Wire Framing, Prototypes, Information Architecture
Stakeholders
2 UX Designers (temporarily)
1 Technical Analyst
1 Front end developer
1 Back end developer
Shared user features
Driver and dispatch users were mostly defined, but when joined the planner and admin were not. Both these users wanted to view a carrier score card to keep track of good-standing vendors based on on-time delivery. So we added that measurement into a dashboard. Admin users also controlled onboarding and site level master configuration pages.
Results
- Dispatch included ability to edit approved FOs from the planner
- Drivers had improved use of directions and easier way to call dispatch
- Planners could better see the next days schedule and adjust FO's on the fly easier
